I. Introduction
Since embarking on our journey within the Cardano ecosystem, we’ve been on an exhilarating ride, full of innovation and its fair share of challenges. We’ve relished being part of this vibrant and dynamic community, yet we haven’t been immune to the growing pains that come with such rapid progress. One significant hurdle we faced was the unexpected abandonment of Lucid, an off-chain transaction building tool many of us had integrated into our workflows.
This left us in a bind, forcing us to scramble and maintain our own makeshift solutions — a drain on our time, resources, and focus. But as the old adage goes, “necessity is the mother of invention.” And from this necessity, Simple PAB was born.
II. Simple PAB
Simple PAB represents our solution to the inherent complexities of transaction building and smart contract interaction within the Cardano ecosystem. This open-source, streamlined library abstracts away these complexities, significantly enhancing the ease and efficiency of Cardano development. We will be leveraging Simple PAB internally to empower our projects, such as Yamfore, and we are genuinely enthusiastic about the possibilities it unlocks.
We recognize that we are not alone in facing these challenges. Our aspiration is for Simple PAB to become an invaluable asset for the entire Cardano developer community. It stands as a testament to our resilience and unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is achievable on Cardano.
Our vision for Simple PAB extends far beyond its current capabilities. We have ambitious plans to evolve it into a comprehensive educational resource, featuring a series of instructional videos designed to introduce Cardano development to individuals with no prior programming experience, complemented by extensive and continuously updated documentation. We will showcase real-world examples of functional codebases utilizing Simple PAB off-chain and Aiken on-chain. While Simple PAB is still in its early development phase, the team is gearing up to release the first iteration soon.
We are confident in stating that our objective is to establish Simple PAB as one of, if not the most crucial developer tools within the Cardano ecosystem!
